A thiefs mask, put over a traditional ethnographic latvian crown, symbolises a way of hiding your identity, but the attempt has slightly failed, because the crown is showing through, due to it`s strong and recognizable shape. 

It proves, that while changing or hiding certain parts of yourself, you can`t lose your true self. It also speaks about the strength it takes, to mask your core due to oppression or fear, but not losing the parts that you are proud of. 

The work was knitted with 30 strands of sewing threads, variating in dark colours, that from a distance resembles black. The piece has been made completely wearable, keeping the exact proportion to a famous ethnographic latvian women crown. Most of the crowns usual decorations have not been added, keeping only the most defining ones. Those are made with different knitting techniques and colour work.
